Many of these songs were written out of having conversations with people at stage doors, standing somewhere having a cup of coffee, when someone comes up to you and tells you their story” explains Amos. “And a lot of times I don’t ever see them again. I guess in a way Gold Dust is about celebrating over 20 years of all the conversations that have happened which inspired many of these songs. And it’s a collection of new recordings of where they are now and who they have become.
